I am a SLP private practitioner serving Sylvania via in-home and teletherapy platforms. My areas of expertise include therapy for children with co-occurring speech, language, and literacy needs and adults with aphasia and Parkinson's Disease. I currently have daytime and early evening openings limited to the immediate Sylvania area.
Pediatrics
Children with a speech and/or language impairment are at high risk of also having dyslexia. I approach these in tandem using a specific, evidence-based approach that imparts skills to tackle both decoding and comprehension. This approach is modifiable to different levels of difficulty from mild to severe. In this approach, intensity of services matter.
Adults with Aphasia
Following a stroke or traumatic brain injury (TBI), adults may have difficulty communicating. There is much that I can do to improve their ability, and research supports the ability to improve years past the initial recovery.
Parkinson's Disease
Speech clarity, volume, and swallowing can be progressively affected by PD. I am certified in the Speak Out program to develop skills and encourage lifelong carryover to promote living your best life for you and your family.
